Megan's Bike Ride Around America (BRAA) will kick off from Hemet, CA with a fundraiser to be held at the new Hemet Literacy Program headquarters at the corner of Latham and Carmellita (across from the Hemet Public Library. We're expecting lots of library patrons, literacy program participants (Megan's a graduate!), and local bicycle enthusiasts to join us in sending Megan on her way toward the East Coast. Megan will be signing copies of her book for friends and Crone House will donated a portion of the proceeds from the book sales to the Literacy Program to help furnish work materials for all program participants.

Not wanting to ignore the communities on the "other" side of Mt. San Jacinto, Megan will make a stop in Palm Springs to meet the press in the afternoon. From there she'll push on to the high desert communities of Yucca Valley, Joshua Tree, and 29 Palms.

Megan's route then takes her along Hwy 62 and across the California desert to Parker, Arizona. She'll continue down through Salome (AZ) to the west side of the Phoenix (AZ) area.

Megan will ride through Florence, Tucson, and Tombstone.

 

Wednesday, March 8th 6:30 PM

Atalanta's Music & Books, Bisbee, AZ - Book signing

Through Chirichaua, Apache, to Lordsburg, New Mexico.

Because there's no good way to ride a bicycle from Lordsburg (NM) to Las Cruces, we're putting Megan and her bike on a bus at Lordsburg. What would take several days by bike (whatEVER route she might take!) will be a short two-hour bus ride to ensure she makes her next signing and points east!

Barnes & Noble, Las Cruces, NM - Book signing

Megan will leave Las Cruces on Sunday and ride Hwy 70 through the Organ Mountains and across the White Sands Missile Range, then on through Alamogordo, Artesia, and Monument. Then she'll take Hwy 176 through Eunice and into Andrews, Texas, heading for Midland.

Sterling City, Coleman, Goldwaith, Waco, Fairfield, and into Tyler.

Marshal (2 days), then on to Shreveport, LA.
